Scheme near Olympic Park drawn up by pH+
A mixed-use development a stone’s throw from east London’s Olympic Park has been granted planning permission by the London Legacy Development Corporation.
Proposals by pH+ will deliver 34 new homes above ground-floor light industrial space on a 0.125ha site at Fish Island in Hackney Wick.
The practice said the five-storey block, created for developer City & Suburban Homes and earmarked for Dace Road, drew its inspiration from the industrial heritage of the area, and particularly the nearby Algha Works which has been making spectacle frames since 1932.
Work on the development is set to start on site this autumn for completion in late 2018.
