A new office for payment solutions company, Edenred, has completed in the Moschato suburb of Athens, Greece.
Designed by KN Group, the open plan space is located on the second floor of a former industrial building.
Dedicated to the principles of a circular economy, the team reused elements of the existing building and the space has been equipped with new technologies, aimed at reducing the building’s environmental impact.
The design language of the existing shell, with clear geometries, free sight, and linearity, was preserved in the design of the interior.
The goal was to place the main working areas around the perimeter, next to the elevation openings, in a way that achieved optimal lighting and ventilation of the space.
The different workgroups are separated by light dividers, such as green islands and transparent dividers with coloured frames to maintain clear sight lines for all users.
The collaborative spaces gather in the centre of the floor, with folding openings, where employees can chat and interact.
The option of opening the external folding curtain walls and using the wide steps of the elevated section as low stands create multiple scenarios of use.
The glass from the previous facade of the building was reused in the grid of coloured partitions within the closed offices.
A wooden beam, a remnant of the adjacent lines of the electric railway, was used to create a stair on the site.
Cabinets and bookcases with geometric shapes, colours and textures create storage areas and work benches for employees.
The way in which the project was approached resulted in the creation of a modern, multipurpose space which supports the various needs of occupants.
