Masterplan to double the capacity of Scotland’s second busiest station
Grimshaw has been selected to design a masterplan to double the passenger capacity of Edinburgh’s Waverley Station.
It is Grimshaw’s first major commission in Scotland; the practice joins an Arup led team that includes Edinburgh based practice Allan Murray Architects.
The Waverley Masterplan, which is being spearheaded by station owner Network Rail and the City of Edinburgh Council, will consider the future growth anticipated at the station, the impact of city centre developments and urban planning trends.
