The prime minister’s pledge to ‘build build build’ will lead to terrible mistakes unless architects are at the table, one of the RIBA presidential hopefuls has warned.

Simon Allford, director of AHMM, was speaking at an online hustings last night at which all five candidates were given a minute each to answer a series of questions ranging from government policy to the climate crisis.

“My answer to build build build is design design design,” he said in a refence to Boris Johnson’s “new deal” speech last week.
