All the finalists for BD’s Architect of the Year Awards revealed
All the finalists for this year’s Architect of the Year Awards are announced today.
BD editor Thomas Lane and architecture critic Ike Ijeh burnt the midnight oil whittling down hundreds of entries in more than a dozen categories to produce today’s shortlists.
Lane said: “What was particularly gratifying was that we received entries from well-known firms that have not previously entered, as well as lots of superb boards from emerging practices.
“We had a really good spread of entries. Two particularly strong categories were housing and individual house. The quality was extremely high which made shortlisting a real challenge. Anyone shortlisted in these categories should be really proud of themselves.
“It’s also good to see previous YAYA winners doing really well. We know that winning the Young Architect of the Year Award can be a game-changer for an up-and-coming practice.”
Now an expert judging panel will meet to assess each shortlist in detail.
The winners will be announced on April 18 at BD’s Architect of the Year Awards party which is being held at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge in central London. As well as winners of each category, the overall Architect of the Year award - the Schueco Gold Award - will be announced on the night, the best of the best chosen from all the category winners.
Make sure you don’t miss out on the celebrations and networking opportunties at one of the biggest nights in the professional calendar. Book your place here: https://awards.bdonline.co.uk/book-a-table/
