Practice creates ‘inspiring world of education’ in grade II-listed townhouses
Broadway Malyan has completed a three-year project to develop a state-of-the-art educational facility in four grade-II listed Victorian townhouses in South Kensington.
Its brief for international private school operator Cognita called for a cutting-edge institution to be delivered in a way that preserved the historical integrity of the six-storey terrace at Prince’s Gardens.
It said the layout of the townhouses, heritage constraints and the position of the party walls across the buildings meant there were significant restrictions and space limitations, which could have affected the school’s ability to deliver its curriculum across the four buildings.
