Andrew Stephenson thinks smaller scheme would reduce cost and risk

Plans for Grimshaw's HS2 station at Euston look set to be scaled back, with the minister in charge of the project saying a reduction in scope would help with risk and cost.

HS2 was ordered to take another look at the plans for the station following the last year’s independent review of the project led by Doug Oakervee.

The scheme is set to be built by a Mace/Dragados joint venture and has a £1.3bn price tag.
