Government using “unrealistic” modelling of future healthcare needs, NAO report warns

The government’s design approach to its £20bn New Hospital Programme (NHP) could result in buildings that are too small, the spending watchdog has warned.

The National Audit Office (NAO) said the Department of Health and Social Care is using “unrealistic” modelling which is overoptimistic in its assumptions of future healthcare needs.
