Latest images come ahead of community consultation
HS2 has given a more detailed look at its plans for the new Euston station ahead of local community feedback events beginning next week.
The events form part of a year-long engagement over the designs, which began in spring when the simplified 10-platform proposal was first outlined.
The government had previously announced that plans would be downsized from an initial 11 platforms in order to save costs and construction time – with the unusable design work on these initial proposals costing the project more than £100m.
In a series of events beginning next week, the design team – which includes Grimshaw, Arup, WSP, Haptic and LDA Design – will be revealing updated plans for the station and surrounding urban realm.
New proposals since the spring include a southern entrance for the London Underground, a new transport operators’ building and plans for accessibility and open spaces.

HS2’s Euston Area director, Laurence Whitbourn, said: “We are working hard to incorporate community feedback into our designs for Euston and make the station and surrounding area a place that local residents and rail passengers can enjoy and feel proud of.
“We hope to welcome members of the local community to our events so they can understand the proposals for HS2 Euston station and have their say on its future.”
The high-speed rail project received a confidence boost last week as the government re-iterated its commitment to the scheme in the autumn statement, following weeks of speculation about its future.
