Scheme will refurb 1990s office
Stiff & Trevillion has been appointed to refurbish a 1990s office building right next to Tower Bridge.
Tower Bridge Court on Shad Thames has views over the bridge and across the river to the City of London.
The client, Fore, bought the 68,000sq ft building for £51m in July and wants to turn it into a sustainable modern workspace.
Fore was founded as a vehicle to invest the money of eBay co-founder and billionaire philanthropist Jeff Skoll. It now invests the money of other wealthy private investors but retains a commitment to social returns.
Stiff & Trevillion director Mike Stiff said the practice hoped to develop “an innovative and unique building on this landmark site”.
“The Tower Bridge Court project offers exciting opportunities to redefine the building’s relationship with Shad Thames and expand the public realm,” he said.
“This in turn opens up the possibility of introducing a range of uses that will benefit the occupiers and the surrounding community.”
The developer intends to submit a planning application in the first quarter of 2019, with work starting in the second half of the year.
