Proposed Coombe Wood school aims to have nearly 1,700 pupils
Sheppard Robson has submitted plans for a £30m secondary school in south London.
The 1,680-place Coombe Wood School in south Croydon will be part of the Folio Education Trust, which is based in nearby Wallington and runs Wallington County Grammar in Sutton. The Department for Education approved the idea behind the school earlier this year.
It will run across 12,400sq m. Its sports facilities include a full-size artificially turfed pitch and athletics track, with a number of the amenities and the new five-court sports pavilion open to the public.
The school is expected to open in phases has been arranged as three connected classroom fingers that allow the building to respond to the site’s contours.
