Design Engine behind Bournemouth plan

Design Engine has submitted plans for nearly 300 flats for Arts University Bournemouth.

The scheme will create 297 bedrooms, with 269 of these being served by a total of 36 communal kitchens. A further 23 would be studio apartments with their own kitchen facilities and five as accessible studios.

Courtyards, communal study areas and landscaped gardens will also feature.

The work is part of a wider revamp of the university’s campus which has so far cost £17m.

Work on the scheme is expected to be completed by summer 2020.
