In a series celebrating BD’s Architect of the Year Awards finalists, we look at the Industry Manufacturing Partner shortlist

Earlier this year BD announced all the architects who made it on to the shortlists for our prestigious annual Architect of the Year Awards.

Now we are shining the spotlight on each category in turn and publishing a selection of the images that impressed the judges.

ACS Stainless Steel Fixings Limited

ACS

Based in Yorkshire, ACS designs and manufactures structural building components including masonry support, cavity trays and brick slip systems for high rise buildings. ACS has invested more than £350k in R&D in the last 12 months. New products include CERTUS, an A1 non-combustible, pre-assembled brick slip system, and the Intex 4-in-1 Masonry Support System, which incorporates cavity tray, wall ties and cavity fire barrier within a single unit.

Internorm Windows UK Ltd

INTERNORM

Internorm manufactures high performance, triple-glazed windows and doors, with a focus on Passivhaus standards for new-build and EnerPHit for retrofit projects. The company works closely with architects to develop optimum solutions including bespoke elements, and offers a full service package from survey to installation for larger-scale residential schemes. Recent projects include Entopia, home of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Last year it delivered nearly 150 CPDs to architects.

Plan A Consultants

PLANA

The design management consultancy helps architects to define and manage complex design processes. Its stellar client list includes Grimshaw (HS2 Euston station), Stanton Williams (Museum of London) and David Chipperfield Architects (LSE Firoz Lalji Global Hub). Plan A increased turnover by 49 per cent in 2023. It has a dedicated sustainability team, with two thirds of projects in the last two years achieving LEED Gold/Platinum (or equivalent).
