The tower will include apartments and a hotel

The building, on a 0.42-acre site at Gorton Street in Greengate, where Salford and Manchester meet, is set to provide 485 co-living units and a 171-bed hotel.

The scheme, for Progressive Living Developments, also includes eight railway arches that will be repurposed to be used as social and leisure spaces.

Contracts have been exchanged with Network Rail, which is the landowner, and work is planned to start on site before the end of the year.
