Gong was one of two awarded to the firm at last night’s Building Awards

The firm scooped the award at last night’s annual Building Awards at Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane, which was hosted by Jimmy Carr and attended by more than 1,100 people.
The gong is awarded for a practice’s all-round performance, its commercial success, its projects and its approach to staff, clients, partners and the environment.
HLM beat a shortlist that included Buckley Gray Yeoman, HTA Design, Ryder Architecture and Sheppard Robson. It also came top in the Every Person Counts: People Strategy Award, beating RLB, Kier and DGP Logistics
Other winners included Muse, named Client of the Year, while Project of the Year went to the Houlton School, a collaboration between architect vHH, Morgan Sindall Construction, Urban & Civic and the Department for Education.
Housing Project of the Year went to Bream Street by AHMM, Net Zero Project of the Year was handed to UCL Pearl by Penoyre & Prasad while Grimshaw’s Terra the Sustainability Pavilion Dubai 2020 was named International Project of the Year.
